When processing a sale, you can choose one of three payment methods: Card, Cash, or Mixed. Each method offers different options depending on how the customer prefers to pay. The sections below briefly explain how each payment method works.
Card
Select Card as the payment method from the Payment menu.
Follow the on-screen instructions on the device.
When prompted, ask the customer to present their card.
The customer can pay using one of the following methods:
Insert the card into the slot at the bottom of the device
Swipe the card using the magnetic reader on the side
Tap the card on the contactless reader at the top
Wait for the device to process and complete the payment.
Cash
When selecting the Cash payment option, you will be asked whether the payment is complete. A receipt will be printed if the answer is yes and the terminal model has a printer.
Alternatively, the information will still be saved in the Fortis database after tapping Finish.
Mixed
The Mixed option enables you to accept payments by specifying the amount paid using a card and cash. This can be useful when customers want to split their payments between different methods.
Tapping on Card will open a new window with interactive input. Specify the amount paid by Card and tap Pay.
Repeat the same procedure for the cash and confirm the payment.
