Card sales are usually paid into your bank account the next day. Settlements are handled by the payment provider that supplied your card machine, and Fortis Support can raise the issue with them for you.
When to expect your money
- Sales made Monday to Friday are usually paid the next day.
- Sales made on Saturday or Sunday are usually paid on Monday.
- Your terminal must complete the End of Day (Z Report) every day. If it doesn't, the next payment can be delayed. See Reports for how to run it.
Common reasons a payment is late, missing or short
- The End of Day wasn't run, so the day's sales weren't sent for settlement.
- Weekend or public holiday: payment arrives on the next business day.
- The sale was taken outside the Fortis app, for example directly in your provider's own payment app. These sales are settled by your provider but don't appear in Fortis, so your Fortis totals and the bank amount won't match.
- Refunds or chargebacks taken from the payout.
Before you contact us, gather
- Your Merchant ID (MID) and Terminal ID (TID)
- The date or dates of the sales
- The amount you expected and the amount you received
- Your Cash Flow Report from the Fortis POS Platform for those dates (Sales → Get Reports)
- Your bank statement or the provider's settlement report for the same dates
- For a single missing sale: the receipt, or its amount and time
